Moultrie Cemeteries

Moultrie County contains approximately fifty cemeteries, of which about eleven have been lost. Of these lost graveyards, some are known only speculatively from old records, some are definitively known by location but were destroyed decades ago, and a few have been plowed under or flooded by the Lake Shelbyville reservoir only in recent years.

Complete transcriptions of forty-seven Moultrie cemeteries are available from the Moultrie County Historical and Genealogical Society.

This site does not attempt to document all Moultrie burials; instead, the persons listed here are the contributions of individual family researchers.

We accept two kinds of submissions: transcriptions and photos. Both must be of graves in Moultrie cemeteries, or of Moultrie residents in nearby cemteries. Transcriptions are given under cemetery names below. Where photos of a stone are available, the family and given names are links (that is, look for names which are underlined) within the cemetery lists.  When submitting contributions, please , giving both the family information and the cemetery.
