BLOOD TRANSFUSION SAVES BABY'S LIFE
Decatur, IL
Little Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tyrol Wilson Gains Strength
A daughter was born recently in the Memorial hospital in Mattoon to Tyrol D. Wilson and wife of this city.
The youngster was very weak and transfusion of blood was thought necessary. Mr. Wilson volunteered some of
his blood but the baby was not strong enough for the operation so blood was taken from the father's arteries
and injected into the veins of the baby, who has gradually gained strength. Mr. and Mrs. Wilson and the
baby, who has been named Betty Joan, are in Sullivan at the home of Mrs. Wilson's parents.
