Anna Susannah, b.
1840 & Sarah Ann Pinkney, b. 1842 were daughters of Willson Pinkney
& Mary Jane Martin, 1837 Coles Co., IL. By c. 1852 both parents were
dead and the Pinkney girls were orphans. In 1853 William Martin was
appointed their Guardian. Believe W.Martin to be William Harvey
Martin, MG of Whitley Twp., Moultrie County, IL was also the girls
grandfather. However, his second wife kwas probably not their
grandmother. In 1854 Anna Susannah (Susan) appears to have m.
Jonathan Graham of Moultrie County. Sarah Ann may have lived with Neri
Thomas Pinckney, et ux, resdidents of Cowden, Shelby Co., IL who were
known to provide Foster care for orphans. There is some speculation
that Sarah Ann may also have lived with the Joshua G. Pinkney family of
Lee Co., IL whose children included Charles Cotesworth Pinkney. In
1859 Sarah Ann m. William Henry Reed in Moultrie Co. and was counted
in the 1860 census as a member of the William Harper Reed family of
Moultrie Co. In 1866 the Reeds moved to Labette Co., KS where William
Harper Reed d. in October 1866. William Henry Reed and family moved on
to Chnautauqua Co., KS where Sarah Ann d. 1879 in childbirth. Prior to
her death she advised her children of her relationship to Charles
Cotesworth Pinkney. Joshua Gedney Pinkney lines are traced to the
Pinckneys of Eastchester, Westchester Co., NY. Any help making the
connection between Willson Pinkney and NY Pinckneys will be greatly
appreciated. Thanks.

I'm looking for
information on Lewis PLATTER. According to census records, birth
indexes, and marriage indexes, this is what I know: he was born in
Prussia abt. 1801. He married Margaret Reedy in Ross Co, OH in 1838.
He appears on the 1840 census for Ross Co, OH. His second child -
Sarah - is born in 1842 in Illinois. His next child, George Washington
PLATTER, is born in Moultrie Co, IL in 1844; the next child, Margaret
Miranda, is born in Moultrie in 1850, and his last child, Lewis, is
born in Illinois in 1854. He shows up on the 1860 census for Moultrie
Co, IL. Between the date of his birth & the date of his marriage to
Margaret Reedy, I can find no mention of him at all. And after making
an appearance on the 1860 census in Moultrie Co, IL, he seems to have
completely disappeared. Here are some questions to which I'd like
answers: How did Lewis PLATTER die? When & Where did he die? Did
he serve in the military? Was Margaret his second wife? Where exactly
in Prussia was he born? When did he come to America, and on what ship?
You know, just a few minor details... Any information anyone can give
me would be much appreciated! Thanks.

I am interested in
locating anyone connected to the people listed below who might be able
to give me accurate information on the descendants and ancestors. I
know that the second family of Dr. Archibald Walter Potter with Melissa
Ford Potter, were residents of Allenville, Moultrie Co. Il for many
years. If anyone knows and can confirm the existence of the burial
place of the following two people, who may have been buried in Sullivan
or Allenville area, I will be very grateful. Carlos (John) Potter, who
died of Spanish flu in Oct 1918 after returning from the war and whose
tombstone I believe to be next to his uncle Grant Ford who cared for
John and who died a month later Nov 1918 of Spanish flu. I would be
very grateful for that information. I have a photo of the stones but
the inscription is partially illegible. I looked at the Moultrie
Military Cem. and found Palo Potter, whose name is the same as the son
of AW Potter from his first marriage. Thank you.
