LEE

I am researching John LEE of North Carolina. He lived in Stewart County, Tennessee during the 1820's and 1830's and possibly longer. Around 1839 he traveled to Moultrie County, Illinois with his two sons, William R. LEE and Alsey B. LEE. He returned to Tennessee but left the sons in Illinois.

William R. LEE was born about 1815 in Tennessee. He married a woman named Emeline and had four children in Tennessee. Martha was born March 31, 1833 in Weakly County, Tennessee John L. was born about 1836 in Tennessee. James was born about 1838 in Tennessee. William B. (Wiley) was born about 1840 in Tennessee. Another child, Lucy Elmira, was born July 16, 1846 in Illinois. In the 1830 Tennessee census the family was in Henry County. Emeline died September 11, 1849 in Moultrie County, Illinois William remarried a woman named, Malinda THOMASON, May 26, 1850. He died March 25, 1860 in Moultrie County, Illinois and is buried with his first wife in Pea Cemetery.

Alsey B. LEE was born about 1819 IN Stewart County, Tennessee. He married Susan SHARP on March 25, 1848 in Moultrie County, Illinois. He lived his life there, married two other women and had a number of children. He died January 31, 1886 in Moultrie County, Illinois.

I am searching for information about the father John LEE. Also looking for other family members. I am willing to exchange information with any LEE researchers. Thank you.

MALONE

I am seeking information on the Warner J. Malone family that lived in the Sullivan area in the 1930s. Warner and Clara Carolina Reeder were married 25 Dec 1904 in Hamilton Co. Il. When they went to Moultrie Co. I do not know. I believe that Clara died in Sullivan, Il. 10 Dec 1939. She and Warner may have had four children; Alva, Ray, Bernice and Willard. MILLER, James, buried in Marrowbone (Bethany) cemetary. My grandmother, Nellie May (Miller) SNOW, is his daughter. They are all in Marrowbone. I am researching John W. Mills. His place and date of birth are unknown. He enlisted in Company F, 126th Regiment of the Illinois Volunteers at Alton, IL, on 22 August, 1862. He was discharged July 12, 1865. He married Catherine Larkins on January 30, 1868, in Irving, Montgomery County, IL. They had at least the following children:
Margaret Mills, dob 12 Nov 1868, dod 19 Jan 1882; William F. Mills, dob 26 July 1870; and Sarah S. Mills, dob 7 Feb 1873. John W. Mills died 18 Nov 1878, in LaDue, Henry County, Missouri, age unknown; Catherine Mills was age 35 in Sullivan, Moultrie County, Il, on 26 June 1880, where sheapplied for a civil war widow pension. Her witness was John M. Kelly. Catherine Mills married Jethro O’Bryant on 7 July 1881, in Moultrie County, IL. Her death unknown. Any help would be appreciated.

My great-grandfather was Simon Bollinger, the barber in Arthur in the 1870's. His daughter, Lennie, was my grandmother. Simon was born in Beringen, Canton of Schauffhausen, Switzerland, and emigrated to the U.S. in 1852. Lennie was born in Arthur, IL, in 1877, and is listed on the 1880 census in Lowe Township.
