• Military: 12 Sep 1918, Shelby Co., IL. * Melville registered for the World War 1 draft. He gave his name as Melvin Bruce Fultz and he was living in Shelbyville, Shelby County and worked as a salesman.

• He appeared on the census in 1930 in Decatur, Macon Co., IL. * ED 58-18, sheet 19a, page 32

Melville married Sarah Mayme Monroe [2186] 1 [MRIN: 725] about 1909 in IL.,2 daughter of Christopher Monroe [12651] and Elizabeth Alexander [12652].

2. Thomas Bart Fultz [23],1 son of Andrew Fultz [2140] and Elizabeth Howe [2141], was born on 2 Sep 1836 in Hendricks Co., IN,2 5 6 died on 23 May 1928 in Moultrie County, IL2 5 at age 91, and was buried in Greenhill Cemetery, Moultrie Co., IL.5 7

Noted events in his life were:

• He worked as a cabinetmaker and carpenter.

• Military: 11 Aug 1862, The Civil War.. 8 Thomas B. joined Company E of the 12th Indiana Volunteer Infantry Regiment in Morgan Co., IN., on September 2, 1862. He participated in battles at Vicksburg, Lookout Mountain, Missionary Ridge, Kenesaw Mountain, and the Siege of Atlanta as well as a number of minor engagements. At one point he was taken prisoner and later released in a prisoner exchange. He was discharged in June of 1865 as a corporal in Washington, DC. For a portion of his enlistment he served with his brother-in-law, Benjamin Donovan.

• He appeared on the census in 1910 in Sullivan, Moultrie Co., IL. * ED 144, sheet 4b, page 223

Thomas married Sarah Ellen Seilhymer [15] 1 [MRIN: 8] on 11 Apr 1867 in Mooresville, Morgan Co., IN.3 9

         ii.  Florence Fultz [2181] was born on 27 Jul 1869 in Indiana.,5 died on 19 Feb 1896 in Moultrie Co., IL5 at age 26, and was buried in Greenhill Cemetery, Moultrie Co., IL.5

        iii.  Charles T. Fultz [3583] was born on 12 Jan 1872 in Indiana.3 and died after 1910.

         iv.  Arthur Bert Fultz [2182] was born on 30 Oct 1875 in Indiana.,2 3 5 died on 27 Mar 19642 5 at age 88, and was buried in Greenhill Cemetery, Moultrie Co., IL.5
